Review: Weaver (Weaver Saga #1) by John Abramowitz

M y Rating:☆☆☆☆ Goodreads Description: Fifteen-year old Alex Cronlord just met the boy of her dreams. Literally. Unfortunately, the dream involved him killing her. When she encounters him at her school the next morning, Alex understandably freaks out – and her mother’s bizarre behavior only makes it worse. What Alex doesn’t realize is that she can see the future – which will get her into a whole lot of trouble. Across town, FBI Agent Moira McBain and her partner Andy Hall investigate a series of house burnings in Dallas, Texas. When a clue leads them to the Cronlords, Moira discovers a disturbing link between Alex’s family and her own – which opens an old wound Moira has spent years trying to ignore. Something is rotten in Dallas, Texas – something involving a secret society, children with extraordinary powers, and human-looking creatures who might literally be out of this world...  Welcome to a different kind of world-wide web.

Review: If I Stay (If I Stay #1) by Gayle Forman

My Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆ Description: In a moment, everything changes. Seventeen-year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall riding along the snow-wet Oregon road with her family. Then, in a blink, she finds herself watching as her own damaged body is taken from the wreck... A sophisticated, layered, and heartachingly beautiful story about the power of family and friends, the choices we all make—and the ultimate choice Mia commands.

Review: Strange Angels Series by Lili St. Crow

My Rating:☆☆☆☆☆ Goodreads Description: Dru Anderson has what her grandmother called "the touch." (Comes in handy when you're traveling from town to town with your dad, hunting ghosts, suckers, wulfen, and the occasional zombie.) Then her dad turns up dead - but still walking - and Dru knows she's next. Even worse, she's got two guys hungry for her affections, and they're not about to let the fiercely independent Dru go it alone. Will Dru discover just how special she really is before coming face-to-fang with whatever - or whoever - is hunting her?

Review: Hollowland (The Hallows #1) by Amanda Hocking

Goodreads Description: Nineteen-year-old Remy King is on a mission to get across the wasteland left of America, and nothing will stand in her way - not violent marauders, a spoiled rock star, or an army of flesh-eating zombies. My Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆ My Review: Let me just say, first, that I currently do not have an e-reader. Also, that I bought the e-book from Amazon-Kindle. This meant a few hours and three-hundred and six (306) pages of staring at my laptop screen, which, if you’ve ever tried to work with the PC-reader, you know that it’s not the most pleasant experience in the world. The internet is close and tempting, and eventually your eyes will loudly complain. This was completely worth it though. I wanted to kick off my reviews with something that fit certain criteria: A) I read it recently, B) it would start the reviews positively, C) it has a significant level of notoriety, and D) I felt strongly enough about it to write about it.   This one definitely fits the frame.

Author Interview with Bonnie Wheeler!

Image
I had the awesome opportunity to interview Bonnie Erina Wheeler of The Erris Coven Series (including her debut novel, Fate Fixed, released summer 2011 and the sequel Blood Twist, coming out early 2012). 1. What are people most surprised to discover about you? I would have to say it is a combination of little things rather than any big thing. I think when people hear my youngest son is adopted, they are surprised to hear that. But when I also tell them he inspired me to go back to college at age 34 and that I graduated as valedictorian with my associate’s degree, they really are shocked.
