More: I grew up in Connecticut. I harbor an adoring fondness of everything from Austen to Dickens to Orwell to the Brontёs, Rachel Caine to Janet Fitch to John Green. I’ve been a lot of things, and I’m a few pieces more. For the record, Ricochet Reviews and Simply Indie Productions are retired projects. (Mischief managed.)


More About The Close

Ricochet Reviews will be closing this fall. I am no longer accepting book requests, though I'm still rating on Goodreads. At the moment, I'm feverishly working on completing a manuscript and setting up a winter-spring release. Post July 2012, the only updates you may be seeing (aside from prior mention) is pre-scheduled holiday greetings.

Though I am both open minded and optimistic as to a future opening of this fun little blog, I have no exact dates as to when it may be open or if the exact genre content will be the same. Hopefully, before then, you will be seeing me as a recently published novelist. :)

This is a guest review by Bonnie Wheeler . * * * * * 5 out of 5 Stars to author Elita Daniels and her novel “Guardian.” B efore I begin, I must say, I absolutely devoured this novel.   W ithin the very first chapter, Daniels brings us into a world where vampires exist and are treated as second-hand-citizens. The vampire life isn’t glamorous – they have cruel experiments performed on them, they are assigned humans (many of whom are cruel) as a sort of “parole officer” to monitor their every move, and they are forced to take meds that make them ill. I loved the scientific aspects of how vampirism could be spread as an infection, how the government would have their hands in using the disease as a weapon, and how a society’s fear of the unknown would bring out the worst in them.   What I loved the most was how Daniel’s created characters that were both terrifying and fascinating.
