Author Interview with Bonnie Erina Wheeler
1. What (and how many books) have you released? What are they about? The only book I have released at this time is my young adult paranormal romance Fate Fixed. Fate Fixed is about a teen named Lexie who suddenly finds herself relocated with her new blended family to "no where" Maine. She is lost in the grief of her father and just wants to see her mom happy so she doesn't raise a stink over their oddness. She is surprised to discover that the boy she had been dreaming about since her father's death is in Maine and that she has the same pull to him she has in her dreams. While she is trying to understand what has happening to them, strange murders are happening around town. Lexie is in the heart of the destruction and doesn't even know it. I don't want to give away the paranormal creatures involved, but no one is what they seems and Lexie needs to learn to fight for her family.
2. Which, if any, character do you feel has the most of your characteristics? I think as a woman, I see a lot of myself in Lexie. She's a sweet girl and sees the good in others like me. She is also patient, but to a point. I see my daughter in her, too. :)
3. How did you get the idea for your work? What lured you to your topics? Since my daughter and I both love paranormal romance, I wanted to write a novel for her that she would love. We're both picky about the kinds of stories we prefer We love happy endings and romances that are forever. I wanted to have those kinds of elements in Fate Fixed. I also like stories that are scary at times but move fast.
4. Which scene was the most intense, or most visual, for you to write, personally? I think the scene when Lexie learns the truth about her brother was the most visual.
5. If you could cast any actor/actresses to play your main characters, who would you select? My choice for Lexie would be Dianna Agron. For Torin, I image a guy who looks like Jared Leto. He is Lexie's crush after all.
6. If you could meet anyone or see anything from your novel, characters or otherwise, what and/or who would you choose? I would want to meet the Erris Coven and hang out with them at Big Wally's. I would have Theo there too. :D
7. How did you go about selecting your cover? I was looking for a cover artist and discovered Phatpuppy Art. She had a beautiful collection. When I saw the one I ended up buying, I just couldn't imagine not using it. Simply Indie Productions did the cover design.
8. What, if any, is/are your next upcoming project(s)? When can we expect them? Blood Twist should be done in another coupe of months. It is book 2 in the series. I am also writing a woman's contemporary fiction novel about a family who is all about images until it collapses from its secrets.
9. Why did you decide to become an author (or start writing)? I always wanted to be a writer but didn't believe I could do it. My daughter was ill and it made me requestion what I wanted in life.
10. What do you love the most about being an author? Meeting readers! It makes me so happy!
11. What or who inspires you to write? My daughter inspired me to write. ♥
12. What is the top cause you champion? I support the American Red Cross and suggest everyone donate if they can. My daughter was the recipient of many of those donations when she was ill.
13. What advice do you have for anyone who is interested in becoming an author? To read many kinds of books! I think it is as important as taking classes in writing.
14. What is the one thing your readers should know about you? That I am a huge vampire fan!
15. What is the one thing you want your perspective readers to know about you? That I am an indie author and still learning the ropes, but if they ever want to chat or ask advice on how they can get started, I am always willing to lend a hand.
16. If you could do anything (for a living or career), besides being a writer, what would do? I would own my own indie publishing company.
17. Besides writing or reading, what are your hobbies? Listening to music, being with my family, and speaking yiddish. (JK)
18. What is… your favorite author, favorite book or series, and/or biggest literary inspiration? I like Christopher Pike's Thirst series. I have to devour them without interuption.
19. Do you listen to music when you write? If so, what artists? 30 Seconds to Mars mostly. A few others too.
20. Is there anything you do that helps you write? When developing a character, I ask "what if?" and see where it takes me.
